TT Red Cross Society president Jill Debourg today said a key part of producing the children's Carnival is funding and sponsorship. However, sponsorship for the event has been slow.

Debourg said the budget for 2019 stands at $755,000, but they have gathered about 10 per cent of the funds.

The Carnival committee will continue to lobby with organisations, corporations, and stakeholders for support in whatever way they can, she said during the launch at Port of Spain Lions Club and Cultural Centre, Fitzblackman Drive, Woodbrook.

The parade will take place on February 23 at Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain.

“We are appealing with corporate TT to come on board....there is a lot of crafting in terms of showing that we can produce this at a lower cost, but right now the event is budgeted at $755,000."
