Prisoners in confrontation with officers unidentified

The remand yard prisoners at Golden Grove who were in a fracas with prison officers on Wednesday, resulting in four officers being injured, are yet to be identified.

The investigator appointed to probe the matter internally is not getting any cooperation from prisoners who saw the incident.

Prisons Commissioner Gerard Wilson, said while the investigator has not yet identified the suspects, a detailed probe is ongoing.

The commissioner said the ten injured officers were granted one day’s sick leave. However, he could not say if the officers will be taking additional days.
