Police believe kidnap victim is alive

TODAY marks 25 days since Chaguanas father of two Sheldon Sukhdeo was kidnapped. However, police believe he is still alive and said they are working on information the 31-year-old businessman is being kept somewhere in Central Trinidad.

Relatives spoke with Sukhdeo four days after he was snatched and he pleaded with them to pay the $2 million ransom demanded. They spoke with kidnappers days after but that was the last time the kidnappers called.

Several areas and homes in Central Trinidad were searched since Sukhdeo went missing. Investigators have been using state-of-the-art technology to assist in the investigation.

On December 16, Sukhdeo was driving his BMW along the Solomon Hochoy Highway in the company of two Venezuelan women and a Venezuelan man, when he was ordered to stop. He was then bundled into a dark coloured SUV outfitted with blue flashing lights , by three men wearing police uniforms.
