Police Commissioner Gary Griffith underwent various tests at the St Clair Medical Centre today, on the instructions of doctors he saw last Sunday.

He is expected to do a final test tomorrow. Griffith said the tests done so far have not revealed any illness of a serious nature, and he believes the abdominal pain he had last Sunday was caused by stress.

He told Newsday, “If you have a Ferrari and you do not put gas in it, then the obvious will happen.” He said during his medical examination last year, when he applied for the job, doctors said he had a pulse reading of an athlete.

However, Griffith, who took up office in mid-August last year, has been on the job round-the-clock and told Newsday he has been turning his blood into water to ensure that crime is down.

Despite doctor’s advice that Griffith slows down, he has opted to remain on the job.
