TWO men, one of them an expectant father today appeared before a magistrate charged with the December 29 kidnapping, rape and robbery of two young women.

Jerod Boysie, 31, and Joshua Williams who were jointly charged were denied bail by magistrate Alicia Chankar in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court.

The charges read to Boysie and Williams are that on December 29, along the M2 Ring Road in Debe they kidnapped two women and then raped them. Other charges read to the men are that they also committed grievous sexual assault on the women.

The men were also charged with using personal violence and armed robbery of cell phones, $40 and a pair of earrings valued $300.

Boysie was represented by attorney Ainsley Lucky who requested bail for his client. Lucky said his client is not a flight risk and did not own a passport. Boysie, Lucky said, lives with his parents in Debe, is not married and does not have children.

Williams was not represented by an attorney. He told the court that his common-law wife is five months pregnant. Prosecutor PC Cleyon Seedan objected to bail citing the seriousness of the offences.

He said that Boysie committed the offences for which he and Williams are charged with, while out on bail on an unrelated court matter. Both men were refused bail and remanded into custody. The case was adjourned to February 6.
