Engineer robbed at gunpoint

A 29-year-old engineer from Santa Cruz is nursing injuries at home after her Toyota RAV4 was stolen by bandits, who also robbed her of $4,400 cash, and cell phones valued at $5,500 on Wednesday night.

The woman was left shaken by the incident.

According to reports made to the police, at about 7 pm, she was driving along Saddle Road, Maraval, near Haleland Park, when 3 men in a car crashed into the back of her SUV.

When she came out from the van, one of the men pointed a gun at her and instructed her to return to the driver’s seat.

She was then robbed and forced to step out the van, after which the men drove it away.

She called for help from passers-by, and was taken to the Maraval police station where she made a report.

The van which was equipped with GPS tracking, was later found abandoned in bushes along Saddle Road, near Santa Cruz.

Maraval police are searching for the three suspects.
