FOR the third time in five years, Cap-de-Ville labourer Richard Isahak is homeless because of a fire. The latest happened yesterday at about 1.30 am when residents of Soomai Trace were awakened by the sound of fire, and saw Isahak’s wooden shack in flames and Isahak nearby looking on.
Cpls Jagoo and Carter and other police from the Point Fortin CID visited the scene, along with fire substation officer Simmons.
Neighbours told police that earlier in the night they heard Isahak talking loudly about the woes he was having with a woman. He lives alone, and the house was not wired for electricity.
About two years ago, Point Fortin firefighters received a report that his previous shack had burned down. Three years earlier, fire service received a similar report. Police believe the fire was deliberately set. Investigations are ongoing.
