FIVE families affected by flooding last year received hampers recently from Appreciation Sports & Cultural Club’s Women International Touring Association in conjunction with Illusion Bar of Mayaro. The hampers were intended to sustain the families for a month.

Appreciation club president and founding member Stafford Pierre thanked his members for helping the club achieve its goal of bringing Christmas cheer for another year. “We feel happy to give these hampers to these families who had been impacted by the flooding not too long ago, because some people still under pressure,” he said.

Pierre added, “It’s Christmas time and some people just not going to see it, but I feel happy these hampers will help them along the way.” Continuing their decade-long commitment of outreach in the community, all-fours teams recently convened at the Yellow Bird Bar in Laventille to witness the presentation of hampers, which was a prelude to the start of Angostura Fairplay League this month.
