Carter lowers national backstroke record

TOP NATIONAL swimmer Dylan Carter lowered the national men’s 100-metre backstroke record yesterday, at the Amateur Swimming Association of TT (ASATT) Short Course Swimming Trials.

The ASATT Trials took place at the National Aquatic Centre, Balmain, Couva.

The 2018 Commonwealth silver medallist and World Championship bronze medallist, who was the lone swimmer in the yesterday’s 100m backstroke race, touched the wall in a time of 50.58.

In the process, the 22-year-old smashed the previous mark of 54.36, set by Cadell Lyons, last month.
