Gunman run over, killed

A 21-year-old Sangre Grande man who shot at his neighbour several times on Thursday afternoon was run over by the victim’s brother.

Keith Clement died as a result.

Around 5 pm on Thursday, Victor Timothy, 31, of Damarie Hill, Guaico, was liming opposite his mini mart when he heard several gunshots and saw two men he knew, one armed with a gun.

The frightened man ran to his brother’s house next door. Victor’s brother Leon told him to get into his car, but as Leon was driving away, Clement ran in front of the car and pointed the weapon at Victor.

Leon drove over Clement and went to the Sangre Grande police station, where he made a report.

Police came to the scene and were told Clement's brother Otis Clarke had taken him to the Sangre Grande hospital. Clement was pronounced dead on arrival.

Sangre Grande police led by Insp Bernard Etienne visited the scene and are investigating.
