Stolen car found in Beetham

Members of the Transit Police and Port of Spain Task Force found a car less than an hour after it was reported stolen.

Police said at around 11.15 am today, the owner of a red Kia Rio reported his car was stolen.

Members of the Transit Police who were on patrol in the Beetham saw a vehicle matching the description of the owner's car parked near the Priority Bus Route with four men inside.

As the officers approached the car they were shot at by the men.

Police returned fire but did not hit anyone.

No one was arrested in connection with the theft.

The car was taken to the Besson Street Police Station for processing.
