DEAN Shelley-Ann Tenia delivered a message of hope to the handful of people who attended the 7 am service at the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity on Christmas Day, yesterday.

Tenia's sermon encouraged people who were faced with difficulty in life to remember that they have not been forgotten because "God comes to all people" to bring joy and to transform people's lives.

She urged people to spread the message of hope on the day Jesus Christ was born. The Dean said, "If you know somebody who is homeless, tell them the good news that there is a saviour and they could walk the streets with dignity."

Tenia said to do what you can to bring about change in the world. "I have a saviour who inspires me to make a difference in the world. To my brothers and sisters do not be afraid and do not feel like you have been forgotten or you are alone because you are not."

The Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity assisted 50 families for Christmas despite being in the process of renovating. The church was damaged by the 6.9 magnitude earthquake on August 21.
