Frederick St looking like long time

THE EDITOR: Frederick Street at noon on Friday seemed to be like the street of a different era. Both sides of the street sported vendors hawking everything and anything you could think of. It looked like a wider version of Charlotte Street.

There was an atmosphere of prosperity and citizens appeared to be doing some no-holds-barred shopping. For a moment in time I thought everybody looked, rich, happy and secure. If I did not know the buildings I would have believed that we were walking on Charlotte Street. In fact The whole of downtown Port-of-Spain never looked more prosperous.

How does DOMA feel about this pavement takeover by the vendors? Certainly the shoppers seemed happy enough. Any visitor from a cruise ship walking around downtown Port-of-Spain today would not believe that TT was having a bad time economically. The richest island in the Caribbean compared to the others.

If we are suffering, as some people would like everybody to believe, we are suffering in style. Let's just say that already there is a Carnival-type atmosphere.

Christmas is for children and we are the the everlasting children of Trinbago.

We enjoy every single moment in time. Rest the negatives, just for Christmas, please.
