Be an angel this Christmas

THE EDITOR: As a country we have been through a very rough-and-tough year, we simply cannot deny this. The present economic downturn together with the unpredictable rainfall at times did take a toll on thousands of our citizens and, if that was not enough, we all still had to deal with the issue of crime which is a major problem. Many this year were distressed by flood waters, some losing everything in their homes, livestock and crops in the field. Then we had some five thousand plus Petrotrin workers being sent home and subsequently 503 from TSTT.

The harsh reality is that thousands of children will have a not-so-pleasant Christmas. Although things may be gloomy, there are still those who have weathered the storm and are still in a comfortable position to assist others in this time of need.

If you are such a person I encourage you be someone's “angel” this year. It maybe a family you know right in your community or some little child who is having a tough time. Why not, in whatever way possible, bring, at this Christmas time, some joy and laughter in that person's life. I will often say “If no one reaches out, no one will be touched.”
