IN A FIT of rage, Dillon Bedassie, 24, went to the home of his ex-girlfriend in Siparia yesterday and fired shots at her house.

He then shot himself in the head and died at the back of the house.

Police believe Bedassie’s intention was to kill his ex and her entire family. Bedassie who lived at St Mary’s Village, South Oropouche and Jewel Ragoonathsingh, 19, shared a brief relationship which ended in October.

Police said Bedassie went to her Castle Street, Syne Village home at 3.30 am and began firing shots. Ragoonathsingh’s mother Antoinette, 44, opened a front door to see what was happening and Bedassie shot at her.

She ran into a room where Ragoonathsingh and her other daughter, Shontell, 22, were in and locked the door.

Bedassie was later found dead while Jewel’s 17-year-old brother Jonathan Moore was found bleeding near the road. Up to press time, he remained warded at hospital in a critical condition.
