Murdered cop to be buried after Christmas

The funeral of murdered police constable Kryston Ramirez will take place after Christmas because his parents who live in the United States have been unable to secure a flight to Trinidad until Boxing Day.

As a result, funeral plans have been shelved until next week after the Christmas and Boxing day holidays. Daphne Julien, a sister-in-law of Ramirez, said relatives have not been coping too well with the murder and Ramirez's two daughters remain inconsolable.

She said AnnMarie Rogers, the mother of Ramirez, was terribly shaken on learning of her son’s death. Newsday understands Ramirez will be given a military funeral at the Maloney Seventh Day Adventist Church and his final resting place will be at the Carapo Public Cemetery.
