Man in court for Luke’s murder

ANDELL SERRETTE, 26, of Hillcrest Avenue, Tarodale Gardens, San Fernando, appeared in the San Fernando magistrates’ court charged with the November 27 murder of Winston Luke, 54. Serrette appeared before senior magistrate Cherril-Anne Antoine last week Friday to answer to the charge as well as being in possession of a firearm and wounding with intent.

Luke, a mechanic of Newbold Street, Mon Repos, San Fernando, was sitting in his yard with family members when two men approached him and fired shots. He and a relative were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital. Luke later died. WPC Hassanali of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (Region Three) sought advice from Deputy Director of Public Prosecution Joan Honore-Paul after Serrette was arrested. He was then charged.

Antoine remanded him into custody to reappear on January 11.
