Eastern Division police have launched a manhunt for a 40-year-old labourer who is believed to be responsible for the shooting deaths of Natalia Marsha Cadogan, 32, of Sangre Grande, and her boyfriend Winston Hazlewood of Laventille.

Police believe the couple was ambushed at the Vega De Oropouche home early Monday.

The labourer who committed the double murder has since gone into hiding. Investigators said the man, who lived near Cadogan, was jealous of her new relationship.

Police sources he threatened Cadogan on several occasions and reportedly told her he could not deal with seeing her in a new relationship.
