At around 5 am, Arima CID police responded to reports of a home invasion at Maturita when they saw three men exiting the house. The police said they were fired upon by the men, and returned fire shooting one man in the knee, while two escaped.

They later found the men, accompanied by another man in the forest near Dump Road, Arima. There was another shootout and the three men, including Singh, were killed.

They are believed to be responsible for a series of crimes between last night and this morning in Arima, including breaking and entering, chopping and sexual assault.
