A better 2019to all readers

THE EDITOR: It takes one second for a year to start and one second for a year to end, but it takes 12 months for a year to grow to its fullest.

This Christmas will be difficult for many of our citizens. Thousands have lost their jobs and thousands were flooded out recently.

For those who are in despair, it is important to remember that God’s plans for us are higher than the plans we sometimes have for ourselves. There is usually a silver lining in every cloud.

Next year will bring even more constriction as, hopefully, the last vestiges of the economic downturn takes its bite. Continued job losses, property taxes, potential increases in T&TEC and WASA rates and fuel prices are all lurking in the future.

However, with the pending 2020general election, that may provide some temporary relief.

I wish all readers a Merry Christmas and a much better 2019. God bless you all.
