P/Valley woman reports sexual assault by relative

Western Division police are searching for a 40-year-old Petit Valley man who tried to strangle a 31-year-old woman on Sunday and also sexually assaulted her.

The alleged victim went to the Four Roads station around 4.30 pm on Sunday and told police she was at her home with the close male relative when they argued.

The woman said the man removed his belt, put it around her neck and began strangling her, and she became almost breathless the man sexually assaulted her.

The woman was examined by a district medical officer and gave a statement.

Investigators searched for the suspect. Investigations are continuing.
