Schoolboy, 16, held for cop's murder

A 16-YEAR-OLD secondary school student has been arrested in connection with the murder of policeman Constable Kryston Ramirez.

Police sources told Newsday that the young suspect was picked up at 6.30 pm at his Peytonville, Arima home.

He is now in custody at a police station in Northern Division assisting Homicide Investigations Bureau (Region III) detectives in their probe into the murder of PC Ramirez.

At about 3 am today, two men dressed in Muslim garb entered the Classic Bar in Arima where PC Ramirez was at. They shot him once in the head before running off.

Ramirez who lived in Peytonville was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James where an autopsy will be done on Monday.
