Equestrian Association celebrates its athletes

CLARE Hobday and Annabella Hill were among several people recognised on December 7, at the TT Equestrian Association’s year end ceremony, held in San Antonio Farms in Santa Cruz.

The two riders were among several who were awarded based on merits for amassing the most points during the year in the disciplines of dressage and show jumping.

Hobday, a senior Equestrian and Hill, a junior, were recognised for their high scores in the field of dressage.

Hobday made a score of 67.5 per cent in a recent competition while Hill scored 73.75 per cent.

Equestrians display their awards at the TTEA’s year end celebrations last Friday, at San Antonio Farms in Santa Cruz.

Other riders receiving top honours were adult riders : Jordanne Brown, Nicola Chatoor, Gabrielle Marhue, Katherine-Ann Pyke and Anastasia Thiessen.

Marhue, of San Antonio Stables, won trophies in both dressage and show jumping competitions.

Chloe Bain, a junior rider from Valley Stables was also recognised, having won the champion trophies for dressage and show jumping like Marhue.

Bain was celebrated along with Sianne D’Abreau, Isabella Powell, and Caitlyn Sebastien.

The association said the ceremony gave competitors and their families the chance to share their successes.
