Amar's daughter's vehicle recovered

POLICE yesterday arrested two men and recovered the vehicle stolen from Tara Amar, the daughter of businessman Robert Amar.

According to police, officers received a tip-off and Insp Robert Joseph leading the Special Investigation Unit of the Northern Division cordoned off the two exits and entrances to Grand Bazaar shopping plaza. The officers surrounded the vehicle and arrested a 37-year-old Siparia man and his 41-year-old Pleasantville accomplice.

On December 4, bandits broke into the Champs Elysees, Maraval home of Amar and stole her silver Toyota Rav 4. Amar, was beaten by the gun toting bandits who made off with the vehicle and other items including jewels and appliances.

Yesterday, police received information that the vehicle was to be sold and sought to intercept both sellers and buyers, however the potential buyer was a no show. The vehicle's license plate was changed but the colour remained. The men will be placed on identification parade later this week.
