Laventille man to be charged with escaping custody

A 34-year-old Laventille man who escaped police custody on Wednesday night surrendered to Port of Spain CID around 6 pm on Thursday.

The Laventille man is expected to be charged with escaping lawful custody as well as other offences.

On Wednesday he was charged with possession of marijuana and two detectives were assigned to take him from Port of Spain CID to the Besson Street Police Station to be put in a cell.
