Doubles vendor robbed at Barataria home

Police are looking for four men who robbed and assaulted a Barataria family yesterday afternoon.

Newsday understands at about 12.20 pm, four men wearing hoods, and bandanas over their faces, stormed the home of Sita Ramlal at Riverside Road, Upper Seventh Avenue, Malick, Barataria and said they came to rob the family.

One of the bandits was armed with a gun and three others had cutlasses.

One of them hit Ramlal's 14-year-old nephew with the gun butt, and stole his cell phone valued $2,200 before running away.

Members of the North Eastern Division Task Force visited the scene and are continuing inquiries.
