S&S Web Source, Vibranium in Norman's windball final

THE grand final of the Norman's 12-over Windball Cricket League bowls off tomorrow with S&S Web Source facing Vibranium at the Tacarigua Community Centre Ground. Action begins at 10 am with the final in the Over-40 Division between Drifters and Anthrax. This will be followed by the Best of the Rest final at 12pm between D' Mango's Bar and Lance's Bar, with the Main Division clash then rounding out the championship matches.

Last Sunday, S&S Web Source strolled into the Main Division final after restricting Surrey Utd to 25 for eight in the first semifinal. They then coasted to 31 for the loss of a single wicket, with Hanuman Moonsammy continuing his dominant form via an unbeaten 22. In the second semi, Vibranium posted a challenging 61 for six, thanks to Dexter Samuel's 21. Saafaaz Ali was the best bowler with three for 14. Reload, in reply, were stuck on 61 for nine when their allotted 12 overs ran out. However, based on the competition's rules, the team losing more wickets was eliminated. Reload's Sean Hallet made 12 as he tried in vain to take his team home.

In the first Over-40 semifinal on the same day, Anthrax held Alliance to 42 for five thanks to Alex Frederick's three for 10. Frederick then played hero with the bat with an unbeaten 11, as he and Cyrus Balroop (16) guided Anthrax to 45 for three to seal victory. In the other semifinal clash, Allegiance could only muster 32 for seven, with Drifters then easing to 34 for one to claim a nine-wicket win and move on to the title match.
