Desalcott should be on track by today

RESIDENTS of south, south western, central and certain areas along the east/west corridor affected by a lack of pipe-borne water for the past week can expect relief sometime today.

This assurance came from Minister of Public Utilities Robert Le Hunte who admitted to Newsday that the completion of repairs at Desalcott was taking longer than expected. He said foreign experts were brought in to assist in the technical aspect of the repairs and production should be ramped up on the weekend.

Affected customers were initially told water would have been restored in their taps by Wednesday, however because of other mechanical issues, the repairs were not completed by then.
