Farmer finds hidden police bulletproof vest

A 39-year-old farmer from Morne Diablo, Penal, stumbled upon a grey market bag hidden under a sheet of galvanise last night, which contained a bulletproof vest bearing markings which suggest it belonged to the TT Police Service.

At about 7.05 pm the farmer was clearing piece of land located at the back of his unfenced house, when he noticed the bag. He called Penal police, who went to the scene and retrieved the vest.

Investigators believe it was hidden by someone from the Morne Diablo area who is believed to be involved in serious crimes.

Investigators are expected to carry out a detailed probe to find out the last police officer to whom the vest was assigned.
