Gun, ammo found on Nelson Street

A GUN and ammunition was found on Nelson Street, Port of Spain, in the early hours this morning.

Cpl Westfield, PC Romany, PC Joseph, PC Beepat and Sgt Hercules were on duty in area the Besson Street district between 4.45 am and 5.10 am. The police went to building 35-37 and searched the area.

PC Beepat found and seized the gun with an extended magazine attached, plus one round of 9mm ammunition was also found on the stairs.

The police continued to search the area, but nothing else was found.

PC Beepat is continuing investigations.
