THE Homicide Bureau Region 1 is investigating the murder of a 15-year-old Laventille boy after he was shot and killed in the garage of his home on Tuesday night.

Police confirmed Isaiah Marshall, a Form Four student of the Barataria South Secondary School was liming with a friend at his Eastern Quarry Road, Laventille home at around 9 pm, when two masked men entered the garage and shot at the boys. Marshall’s friend ran away as he was shot in the head and body. PC Antoine of the Inter Agency Task Force responded to the report.

Speaking with Newsday at the Forensic Science Centre, St James yesterday, Marshall’s relatives said the teen lived in Tunapuna with relatives but was visiting his mother in Laventille for the weekend.

“He was supposed to be getting ready for exams and I remembered telling him to make sure and be back home in time for him to get ready for his exams,” one relative said.

Another relative lamented that it had become impossible for parents to protect their children from harm. Referring to the death of 13-year-old Joash Pantin in Longdenville, she said parents needed to be on guard at all times.

They said they could not understand why anyone would want to harm Isaiah as he was not in the community long enough to make enemies with anyone. Cpl Mohammed is continuing inquiries.
