CoP Griffith on Westmoorings drug bust: Related to police or not, I will take you down

INVESTIGATORS have confirmed to the Newsday that one of the women arrested in this morning's Westmoorings million-dollar drug bust, is a relativeĀ of a policeman who is in the executive of the TT Police Service. Police, including Commissioner Gary Griffith, are still at the scene of what has been described as a major drug bust at Regents Gardens.

Newsday understands that five people, two men and three women, have been arrested including the relative of a senior government minister. The raid was conducted by the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) based on information they received yesterday.

Contacted for comment on a senior policeman's relative being among those arrested, Commissioner Griffith said: "I don't check relationships. Regardless of who is, close or distant family, friend, associate, enemy...if you break the law, I would take you down."
