Government passes tax bill without Opposition support

The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2018 was passed Friday night with amendments.

The bill was amended to remove the special majority requirements, in a move signalled early in Friday’s debate by Attorney General Faris Al Rawi.

The bill was passed by a division of 19 for, 14 against.
