Where are the parents?

THE EDITOR: Here we go again. Every year we are hearing of the dangers of these scratch bombs. Plenty talk for sure, but who has seen this as being serious and done something substantial about it?

Now we have families losing their homes and last year there was serious injuries to someone. My question is this: are these parents not reading or hearing the news concerning the risk with this so called "fun stuff?” Besides causing harm to citizens and property they are also a nuisance to animals and people trying to sleep.

Parents need to take some of the blame here. You need to educate those under your guidance about these dangerous explosive devices. They must be dealt with accordingly if they are caught with scratch bombs. Parents take control; that is your responsibility. And I do hope the relevant authorities will do their part. Let them see how serious this is by hitting where it hurts most – the pocket.
