Get ready for J'Ouvert

THE EDITOR: It is time to put things in place for Carnival 2019.

Its Christmas, so, as is customary, I am looking at painting the house at this time of year. My first job is my front wall on the pavement that was defaced by an unruly "Pink" J'Ouvert band, that I had anticipated the relevant authority would do something about. I think that after eight months going into the month of November, even the most optimistic person would "throw in the towel" as, needless to say, nothing has been done in terms of compensation in spite of the fact that I submitted an invoice for the one gallon of paint that is needed for the job.

Being the tolerant good citizen that I am, I have overlooked this, but certainly will pursue the issue of J'Ouvert bands being allowed to come up O'Connor street on J'Ouvert morning, a practice I think should be stopped. Why can't the bands that start off in the vicinity of the Jean Pierre Complex/Stadium/ Woodbrook facility, be made to go to Ariapita avenue via the Maraval Parkway? Why must they be allowed to come up O'Connor street blasting music at 4 am (sometimes earlier) and painting up peoples walls? I need help painting for Christmas where are they now? I have heard nothing concerning this issue. What are they waiting on? Come on Mr Authority, do something sensible and positive. Enough is enough. Before you can blink, is J'Ouvert again and we back to square one.
