Refinery must die
THE EDITOR: If the Petrotrin refinery is saved, if all the OWTU fenceline communities and small dependent contractors by extension are saved, who will save the middle class taxpayers whose money will have to be used to keep the refinery working? How long will they be able to survive paying for Petrotrin? About two years? Three for the most?
When the middle class communities become as desperate as the fenceline families, who will take over the burden of keeping the TT economy from collapsing? The collective trade unions?
We cannot run and we cannot hide from the truth. The refinery must die.
