Police Commissioner Gary Griffith yesterday visited the Maximum Security prison in Arouca and spent close to two hours with prison officers.

Sources said Griffith, accompanied by police in several marked vehicles, arrived at MSP around 8 am and was escorted to Building 13, where he had discussions with senior prison officers.

Acting Prisons Commissioner Dane Clarke was not present to meet with the CoP but sources said Griffith visit was to listen to prison officers' concerns about short-term new security arrangements.
