‘Come outside’talk revealing

THE EDITOR: The “come outside” threat by the Prime Minister to an opposition politician during debate of a matter of public and political interest demonstrates quite clearly the calibre of politicians we have here.

This is just the sort of incident that will lead potential and hardened criminals to believe that some aspects of their activities are somehow sanctioned by the Prime Minister’s attitude.

This is not the kind of behaviour that is expected from any politician, especially from the leader of a ruling political party, under the banner of democracy.

However, it would appear that this is what is expected from our PNM politicians in order for them to enhance their popularity among certain elements of their supporters .

Since this is a repeated threat copied by another senior politician, there is no doubt that we can look forward to more of the same in the future.
