Man dies after playing with snake

Police are awaiting an autopsy on the body of Tyrone Mcletchie, 40, of Carnbee, to determine cause of death after Mcletchie collapsed and was deemed unresponsive while on a lime with friends on Tuesday.

Police reports are that Mcletchie was with friends at Mot Mot Ridge in Buccoo around 1:30am when he and friend began playing with a snake they found wandering in the area. Reports are that Mcletchie, while holding the snake, collapsed and became unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr Onyeka Okpala. The body was removed to the mortuary of the Scarborough General Hospital.

Asked for comment on whether he was bitten by the snake, a cting Senior Superintendent Jeffrey George could not say if there were any bite marks by the snake on the body.
