Garcia: Two at-risk schools

TWO primary schools are at “very, very high risk” as regards their structural integrity after the August 21 earthquake, Education Minister Anthony Garcia told Newsday Tuesday. He declined to name them.

He said he was briefed by the Ministry of Works and Transport whose engineers are inspecting schools nationwide for quake damage. “They have done about 50 so far. Two have been identified so far as very, very high risk. “I’m not in a position to name them. We are looking at that.” Garcia said they were both primary schools, but did not give their location. “Before the end of the week I will have a complete report.”
