Tigers claw Police in Youth Netball

MIC TIGERS brushed aside Police Youth Club 17-5 on Thursday, on the final day of the round-robin Courts All Sectors Netball League Under-16 Youth Development Programme, at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua.

Kareena Lewis had a game-high 10 goals from 18 efforts, with Zakiya Williams chipping in with five from 11, and Robin Adams two from four.

The scoreboard read 2-2 at the end of the first quarter, but MIC Tigers led 6-2 at the half, and 11-3 after the third quarter.

Shania Millette and Jada Chandler each had two goals from three attempts for Police Youth Club, and Abaya Williams contributed one from four.

SNA South breezed past SNA East 30-10 in another game on Thursday.

Maikea Bramble led the scoring with 13 goals from 16 efforts, with Dyese Sylvester adding 12 from 25, and Akeila O’Neil a perfect five from five.

SNA East’s scoring revolved around Shaquilla Baptiste’s six from 11 and Brianna Superville’s four from six.

In the first match on Thursday, UTT doused Fire Youth Club 22-5.

Jillisa Briggs was the leading goal-getter with 12 from 16 for UTT. Roni Asia Farfan notched nine from 15 and Venicia Goodridge one from six.

For Fire Youth Club, Khia Joseph had three from 12, Annasarah Jack one from two and Kelly Ann Felix one from three.

In related news, the Under-16 Youth Development Programme will conclude today, from 1 pm, with a mixed teams knock-out competition at the aforementioned venue.
