Bermudez silence Tigers 30-5 in All Sectors Netball

PHOEBE WARNER had a game-high 20 goals from 24 attempts as Bermudez silenced MIC Tigers 30-5 on Tuesday, in the first of three games at the Eastern Regional Indoor Sports Arena, Tacarigua.

Action was in the Courts All Sectors Netball League Under-16 Youth Development Programme.

Warner, the goal-shoot, got support from her goal-attacks Kelelicia George, who scored six from nine, and Shaniqua Griffith, who notched four from seven.

MIC Tigers, who trailed 10-1, 19-1 and 27-2 at the end of the first three quarters, got two goals apiece from Robin Adams and Kareena Williams, and one from Zakiya Williams.

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) were also in an uncompromising mood, as they brushed aside SNA East 27-11.

Jillisa Briggs led the scoring with 20 from 24, with Roni Asia Farfan and Kayleea Songui contributing five and two respectively for UTT, who led 4-2 at the end of the first quarter, 12-5 at the half and 21-7 at the end of the third quarter.

Getting their names on the scoresheet for SNA East were Shaquilla Baptiste (six), Ashaki Clarke (two), Brianna Superville (two) and Mikayla Charles (one).

In the final match of the day, SNA South trounced Police Youth Club 23-4.

Maikea Bramble was the leading scorer with 11 from 13, with Akeila O’Neil notching six from nine, Dyese Sylvester four from eight and Rebecca Briggs two from three.

Police Youth Club, who were behind 4-0, 11-1 and 16-3 at the end of the first three quarters, got two goals each from Jada Chandler and Shania Millette.
