Nip lawless act in bud

THE EDITOR: There is now no doubt that many of our citizens are turning to acts of lawlessness in order to make a quick buck and to assist them the police appear to turn a blind eye to their money-making illegal misdemeanours.

Wiping the windscreens of cars at traffic lights without the permission of the owner/driver, who is helpless to do anything to stop this illegal activity, which is almost in all cases an unwanted service, and then forcefully demanding payment is becoming a prominent act.

It would now appear that the normal trend is to allow citizens to indulge in open lawlessness by turning a blind eye to their lawlessly activity until the situation develops into a widespread and dangerous ploy.

Such illegal and lawless activities should be nipped in the bud before they become widespread.
