No-brainer to stop the Chag killers

THE EDITOR: Everyone is aghast at the recent murders on the Chaguaramas boardwalk.

Why the perpetrators were allowed to escape is baffling.

The killings took place a few metres from the main police post. There is another police post near the Alcoa station with a barrier gate, both posts within sight of each other.

Surely, the CDA police on the sound of such a barrage of gunshots could have called the other post to block off the road, while they themselves could also have set up a roadblock to hem in the assailants.

Keep in mind the Carenage Police Station is less than two minutes away.

That action is a no-brainer for any trained security person or someone with even a little iota of sense.

It’s one road in and out of Chaguaramas. As a result the felons of any serious crime could be apprehended.

It’s time to expedite the construction of the new Carenage Police Station on the main road.
