MINISTER of Public Administration Marlene Mc Donald has been discharged from St Clair Medical Centre after being treated for a severe cough and other cold symptoms, said a statement yesterday from her constituency office assistant Sharon Felix.

This news came after Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley on Tuesday on a radio show had said Mc Donald was "seriously ill", and after she was treated a month ago at Port of Spain General Hospital for low blood pressure.

Yesterday's statement said Mc Donald visited the St Clair facility on Sunday and left on Tuesday.

Felix said Mc Donald had previously suffered a bout of bronchitis in 2013.

Of the Minister's treatment at St Clair, Felix said, "Over the period of time she was there, mucus was suctioned out of her lungs."

Mc Donald was discharged on Tuesday evening and is now resting comfortably at home.

"She will return to work after a few days sick leave, as recommended by her doctors." Mc Donald expressed her heartfelt thanks to colleagues, constituents and others for their love and support during the time of her hospitalisation."

Otherwise a ministry statement said minister in the minister Maxie Cuffie will be back on the job by month-end.
