Search for missing woman

ANTI-KIDNAPPING officers led by head of the Port of Spain CID acting Snr Supt Ajith Persad yesterday searched several areas in Central for missing nursing assistant Sharday Emmanuel.

The 22-year-old from Mamoral No 1 went missing last Wednesday after telling her boyfriend she was going to Chaguanas to collect something. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Police were hampered in their search over the weekend by the bad weather, but searched several forested areas and have been liaising with other other units. Investigators have since questioned a man known to her and his cell phone was seized. The man’s Longdenville home was searched.

Emmanuel’s friends said she had confided in them that she had become scared because of threats from someone close to her. Investigators were told she was last seen in a blue car leaving Mamoral on the day she disappeared. They are hoping to get CCTV footage from homes in the area to help trace the car.

Yesterday, relatives said all they want is to have Sharday back home. Her father Junior said, “I have been calling her phone, sending text messages and she has not responded. This is unlike Sharday, but I have faith she will be found alive and well.”
