Anything for votes

THE EDITOR: As two by-elections and the local government election loom large, to be followed by the big shebang, the 2020 general election, I am entertained by politicians’ optics and antics as they look for votes in ever nook and cranny.

Politicians are doing the usual – kissing old ladies and babies, making promises, being visible on television, turning up at mosques, mandirs, churches and even funerals. Politicians will turn up anywhere for votes. Some of them have no shame.

No wonder why Black Stalin warned in song to light your incense and candle, because vampire passing.
