15 new buses to be commissioned today

Fifteen new buses are expected to be commissioned by the Public Transportation Service Corporation today.

Minister of Works and Transportation Rohan Sinanan along with representatives from China Higer Bus Automobile Company, PTSC officials and representatives of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) are expected to be at the event. PTSC Tobago Director Learie Paul told Newsday Tobago last week that Tobagonians can now breathe a breath of relief with new buses finally arriving on the island.

“Improving the transportation system is the aim because villagers plan their lives around the public transportation system. Many of them wait for the bus schedule to decide when they can go to Scarborough, so we want to be effective when the buses are in operation,” he said.

“This is why we are making sure our staff has the knowledge and tools to care these buses because look how long we have waited for them. This is also the first time our engineers were involved in the inspection process of these new buses and we told them what we wanted and this is what we have now,” he added.
