Baby found dead

AN autopsy will be conducted today on a six-week-old baby boy who was found dead at his Guayaguayare Road, Mayaro home on Saturday morning. According to a police report at about 10.30pm Friday, the 32-year-old mother breastfed her six-week-old son Jirvon Mahabir and put him to sleep. The mother placed the baby on the same bed where she and her 23-year-old husband slept. At about 4.am the following morning the mother awoke and checked on the baby. She told police the baby was not breathing. The baby was taken to the Mayaro District Health Facility where he was pronounced dead.

PC Bachoo of Mayaro Police Station is investigating.
