On Wednesday, employees of the Division of Finance and Economy received free flu vaccinations, HIV tests, blood pressure testing, glucose testing and nutrition advice, at a health fair hosted by the Division’s Occupational Safety and Health Committee.

The fair, held at the Division’s head officers at the Victor E Bruce Financial Complex, Scarborough, was held to mark National Occupational Safety and Health week which ends today.

Michael Daniel, Chairman of the Division’s Occupational Safety and Health Committee said the fair’s main focus was to educate employees on taking care of their personal health.

“This health fair is to do with the wellness, enhancement and betterment of the employees of the Division. Hopefully the employees would learn about their general health; find out about their pressure, cholesterol level and all these things and persons would take away a general idea of how important it is to be health conscious,” he said.

Daniel stressed the importance of physical fitness to one’s everyday lifestyle and said most people need to bring it into their own daily routines and get exercising.
